With Season 2 of Apex Legends set to start in under a months time, it’s time to dig into everything we know about the popular battle royales highly anticipated second season.

Titled “Battle Charge” the second season has been long awaited after a disappointing first season saw the games popularity decline, especially on broadcast platform Twitch.

Many believe the lifeblood of the game is dependent on a successful and fruitful second season. So far, we’re aware of some key components that should certainly spice things up.


The new Legend was teased even further yesterday with a wealth of information regarding the character’s lore and abilities being presented. You can find the lore in the above link, but we’ll give you the low-down on her abilities in this article.

  • Tactical Ability: Perimeter Security – Connect nodes to create electrified fences that damage and slow enemies.
  • Passive Ability: Spark of Genius – 
    Ultimate Accelerants fully charge your Ultimate Ability, and standing near interception pylons boosts your Tactical Ability recharge.
  • Ultimate Ability: Interception Pylon – 
    Place an electrified pylon that destroys incoming ordnance and repairs damaged shields as long as it stands. (Max: 3)

L-Star SMG:

A weapon that was leaked shortly after the games release, we finally know when the weapon is coming. The weapon which was found in the Titanfall series as an LMG will be available strictly in care packages due to its extreme power. It will be joining the Mastiff and Kraber as care package weapons.

Ranked mode:

If you’re a competitive player this one is probably the most important. Apex Legends will be gaining a rank mode. The new mode will allow players to fight their way through six tiers from bronze to Apex Predator and all that’s inbetween.

Earning your way through the rankings will earn you rewards along with more depending on where you finish the season.

Season 2 Battle Pass:

Those who love progression will hopefully enjoy Season 2’s battle pass more than the first. The original Battle Pass was met with great critiscm and Respawn Entertainment has sworn the next one will be leaps and bounds better than their previous iteration.
