The plague continues for Cloud9 as they are set to attend yet another event with a stand-in. The teams’ new in-game leader Maikil “Golden” Selim isn’t so new anymore but still feels as such due to his repeated absence at events. The 24-year-old has been ill for some time now, causing him to miss several matches or events altogether. The Swedish player is set to miss BLAST Pro Series Lisbon for the same reason, making it the second event in a row he is unable to attend.
Golden was forced to miss the Esports Championship Series Season 6 Finals at the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas in late November. This forced the team to use Soham “valens” Chowdhury, the team’s coach to play as the organizations fifth.
Still being unable to compete due to a medical situation, @goldenmajk will not be attending at @BLASTProSeries #Lisbon.
We are happy to announce that @refrezhCS will be standing-in for #C9CSGO! Catch the team in action on Dec. 14th! #LETSGOC9 pic.twitter.com/x3TrfMbJwr

refrezh will join the team in the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal from December 14 to 15 where they’ll compete for a slice of the $250,000 prize pool.
