DreamHack has announced another team to the list for their Masters Malmö event. fnatic joins the cast as the third team set to attend DreamHack Masters Malmö. The Swedish side was most recently left wanting more after disappointing results at the ESL Pro League season 9 finals and ESL One Cologne.

fnatic join Astralis and OpTic as the presently set teams. Astralis received the first invite while OpTic earned a spot by winning DreamHack Open Summer.

Scheduled for October 4 to 6, DreamHack Masters Malmö will feature a $250,000 prize pool and a total of 16 teams fighting for the lion’s share of the prize money in addition to a trophy for the case.

The event will take place as part of the Malmö Game Week. Malmö is not unfamiliar with such an event either as this will be the third time DreamHack Masters has chosen the Swedish city as its destination. This includes the very first DreamHack Masters event to ever take place.

The group stage will open up in the MalmöMässan exhibition and convention center where fans can watch the matches live. Following the group stage, the playoffs will take place in the Malmö Arena where the real spectacle takes place.

12 more teams will join the lineup between now and October 4 and it is expected over half will be from invite while a few may be earned via a qualification process. Several teams that have been on the upswing since April such as Vitality, Liquid, and ENCE are most likely to receive invites.
