Cache has made its return with the popular map being released today following an extensive rework to both the design, aesthetic, and layout.
The map created by Sal “Volcano” Garozzo and Shawn “FMPONE” Snelling was teased for months following its removal from the active duty map pool for competitive games to make room for Vertigo. Fans got their first look at the renovated map during ESL One New York just two weeks ago where it was played during a show match.
It was received with mostly positive feedback and has received even more adjustments since after professional players provided their thoughts.
The biggest changes include a window added above the standard Z entrance, a complete overhaul to the cosmetics of the map, a spam spot added in B-halls toward checkers, a boost or jump spot above headshot on b, and more.
There have been some concerns brought forward already regarding the fps, however, as many are claiming to only get around 100 at various parts of the map even with high end systems.
Those wanting to try the map for themselves can download it via the workshop link provided in the tweet from FMPONE higher up in this article.
We’re certain it’s not a done deal and more adjustments, especially related to performance, will be coming out in the coming weeks.
