DreamHack Masters Dallas has revealed Renegades as the next team to receive an invite to the event. The $250,000 event will be held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. Sixteen teams will be battling it out for the trophy and lion’s share of the prize pool.

The majority Australian roster is set to join the likes of FaZe, Vitality, North, Liquid, NRG, Ninjas in Pyjamas, fnatic FURIA, G2, Isurus, and Windigo. Two more invites are set to go out alongside the Chinese and Asian qualifiers to determine the remaining seven spots.

It was recently brought to light that Owen “smooya” Butterfield would be playing alongside the squad in place of Sean “Gratisfaction” Kaiwai due to Visa issues preventing the AWPer from attending ESL Pro league. At this time there is no information as to whether or not that same Visa issue could prevent him from attending DreamHack Masters Dallas.

Renegades have shown a strong performance over recent months since the addition of Gratisfaction and Jay “Liazz” Tregillgas at the end of 2018. The team made a deep run into the quarterfinals of the IEM Katowice Major and showed it wasn’t a fluke with a semifinals performance against top tier opponents at the StarSeries i-League Season 7 finals in Shanghai, China.
