The Chinese regional qualifiers for the StarLadder ImbaTV Minor confirmed the reports from a few days back. Vici Gaming benched their captain Pan “Fade” Yi, moved Zhou “Yang” Haiyang to position four and brought in Sun “Agressif” Zheng to play in the offlane. But the big shuffle surprise appearance was made by Team Aster.

Aster have silently brought in Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung, who played with the “Tigers” tag today, although he didn’t play with the SEA team in the Stockholm Major qualifiers. VG vs Aster was the opening series of the qualifiers and it looked like Mushi would really make the difference for his team. He played two Puck games and he’s been instrumental Aster’s fairly dominant 2-0 win. However, in the upper bracket finals, Aster got outplayed by Royal Never Give Up. Du “Monet” Peng’s Lifestealer 18-minute Radiance in game one and no less than four Blink Daggers, meant to annihilate Sniper, set a fast tempo and left no room for Aster to maneuver.

RNG is the first of the two Chinese teams to qualify for the Minor and unfortunately for Team Aster and Vici Gaming, this means that at least one of them will have to sit out this set of Minor and Major tournaments. The Chinese qualifiers resume tomorrow, February 12 with both VG and Aster in the lower bracket rounds, fighting for the second and final slot.
