BOOM Esports made a roster change ahead of their final two series in the Southeast Asia Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) League and replaced Andrew “Drew” Halim with Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon.

23savage is the first non-Indonesian player to have ever played under the BOOM banner, but given the current standing in the SEA DPC League, his addition as a stand-in is most likely made with hopes at claiming the third spot in the region.

BOOM Esports roster for Week 5 of DPC SEA League
  • Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon (stand-in)
  • Rafli “Mikoto” Rahman
  • Saieful “Fbz” Ilham
  • Brizio Adi “Hyde” Putra
  • Alfi “Khezcute” Nelphyana

Southeast Asia has only two spots up for grabs for the Singapore Major group stage and playoffs. The third placed team at the end of the League play, will head to the Major Wild Card leg of the competition joining two teams from Europe, two from China and one from CIS. Only the top two teams from Wild Card matches will make the cut for the Major, so the contention is only becoming tougher for all those who haven’t secured a top two finish in the regional leagues thus far.

Currently, BOOM Esports sit on the fifth spot in the SEA League with two victories and three losses. Their final two series are scheduled for week five when they will play against Execration and Vice Esports. BOOM will need clean 2-0 victories and even so, they will need to wait for T1 and TNC Predator to finish their matches as well before knowing the final standings.

23savege will make his debut in the DPC SEA League on Wednesday, February 17, after he was slated to begin the season with Vici Gaming. He was dropped by the Chinese organization in January, right after the Dota Pro Circuit was announced as travel restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic along with language barrier between the players made VG to reconsider their final roster.
