Back in May of this year, we saw history being made when the first ever player reached 11,000 Matchmaking Rating in Dota 2 and now a seventh player has been added to the list as Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte joins the elite ranks.
Having dominated the first Major of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit, MDL Chengu, TNC Predator seemed to struggle for quite some time in an ever-impressive Southeast Asia region. However, this seemed to change when they were victorious at last months ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia – before they fell again at Beyond the Summit Pro Series Season 3: SEA. This hasn’t stopped Gabbi from showing that he is one of the best carries in the world by joining the elite ranks of the 11K MMR players.
Gabbi becomes the seventh player to reach this amazing milestone, joining the likes of Karl “Karl” Jayme, Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon and Abed Azel “Abed” L. Yusop, among others, atop the Dota 2 MMR rankings. His achievement comes less than two months after the player reached 10K MMR, meaning that he has been putting in a lot of time to reach this amazing milestone – and with some of the stats seen in the above Tweet, we can see why he is easily counted as one of the best.
Although TNC Predator are currently down to four players, having released Park “March” Tae-won from their roster recents, nor are they registered for any tournaments currently – and have not looked their best for some time, Gabbi’s achievement is still absolutely amazing. With two other players on the roster reaching 10K MMR earlier this year, it will be interesting to see if they can also break the 11K barrier, especially with the MMR reset now becoming an individual choice rather than an automatic one.
We look forward to seeing both Gabbi and the TNC Predator roster in action once again soon with their new 11K MMR player.
