At the recent ESL One Mumbai 2019, Natus Vincere made quite the valiant showing, taking down a host of fairly big names as they marched to a third place finish – but this was not enough to keep the squad together.
A short time ago, via their website, Na’Vi announced that they would be changing up their roster with Akbar ‘SoNNeikO’ Butaev returning to the squad after being absent in Mumbai due to health issues. Alongside this, the team’s position four support, Evgeniy ‘Chuvash’ Makarov will move to an inactive role on the roster as they progress forward.
His replacement will be ex-The Pango player, Bakyt ‘Zayac’ Emilzhanov, who moved to inactive on their roster just a few weeks ago. Zayac has been a strong part of the CIS Dota 2 competitive community for a few years now and should bring in some welcomed strength to the Na’Vi squad.
Igor ‘Caff’ Sydorenko, Na’Vi’s Dota 2 Manager, had the following to say on the roster changes,
It happens sometimes that a team reaches a certain limit and in order to progress further, it is necessary to make some changes. Chuvash is a good player and a teammate, I wish him good luck and I am sure he will be able to fully open up as a player in a new team.navi.gg
In turn, I am pleased to welcome Bakyt to the team. I believe that he will bring a lot of new ideas and strengthen us before one last leap to the main tournament of the year.”
The full Na’Vi roster is:
- Vladislav ‘Crystallize’ Krystanek
- Idan ‘MagicaL’ Vardanian
- Evgeniy ‘Blizzy’ Ree
- Evgeniy ‘Zayac’ Makarov
- Akbar ‘SoNNeikO’ Butaev
The squad will now head to their boot camp and begin preparations for the next batch of Minors/Majors on the horizon and any other tournaments in the future.
