The International 2019 CIS closed regional qualifiers are set to start today, Sunday, July 7, 2019, with eight teams on the hunt for the just one ticket to Shanghai, China.

This will be the third year in a row without the iconic player  Danil “Dendi” Ishutin fighting for a shot at the Aegis of the Champions. His team, The Pango was knocked out in both open qualifiers, but for two other teams, the open qualifiers went smooth.

Vega Squadron, with a roster finalized on the first of July, have made it through the second leg of open competition and will be joined by Nemiga Gaming who are the very last team to claim a spot in the closed regionals.

Vega Squadron roster:

  • Danil “gpk” Skutin
  • Oleg “LastHero” Demidovich
  • Vitaliy “so bad” Oshmankevich
  • Dmitriy “Fishman” Polishchuk

Nemiga Gaming roster:

  • Maxim “mellojul” Pnyov
  • Alexey “TheChosenOne” Karanevich
  • Genadiy “Astral” Motuz
  • Eugeniy “Fervian” Aksenov

The CIS closed regional qualifiers start at 13:00 EEST with a Round Robin best-of-one group stage. At the end of it, only the top four teams will advance into the qualifiers playoffs which will be played in a best-of-three, double elimination bracket with a best-of-five grand final.
