ESL Mumbai had reached a point where elimination was on the cards for the losing teams in the lower bracket and after we waved goodbye to two teams in the morning, another fell in the last series of the day.

After TNC Predator easily marched over Signify early in the day, eliminating the home squad from the tournament, they would face Team Team in their next series, hoping to continue marching forward. For North American Dota 2, Team Team were the last hope in the event with compLexity failing to take victory over The Pango and being eliminated. The two teams seemed evenly matched on paper, but when it came down to the series, things were very different.

The first game was basically a walk in the park for the Southeast Asian squad as they took complete control and starved Jacky ‘EternalEnVy’ Mao of any sort of impact. It was game two that definitely turned up the heat as both teams fought back and forth. The early period was all TNC but with a massive teamfight lineup including Tidehunter, Enigma and Medusa, Team Team made things interesting as things progressed.

However, it took 43-minutes for the first Black Hole to actually appear from Team Team and when it did, it ended in disaster. Due to a Rubick from Timothy ‘Tims’ Randrup, TNC absolutely destroyed their opponents as he stole a Ravage followed by a Black Hole. With a 2-0 loss, Team Team exit ESL One Mumbai 2019 – taking the hopes and dreams of NA Dota with them.

Tomorrow we return to the NSCI Dome for more epic Dota 2 action, starting with an elimination series between Keen Gaming and The Pango.
