Team Adroit had some very unfortunate internet problems yesterday, which caused them to forfeit one game against Fnatic and led them to calling the next in under 20-minutes. But the Southeast Asian squad had one more chance to reach the ESL One Los Angeles Major this morning.
With their internet issues seemingly resolved this morning, Adroit took to the final series of SEA qualifiers in an attempt to make it through to their second Major of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit season. Their opponents for the final game were IO Dota 2, the latest squad from Chai ‘Mushi’ Yee Fung – who had made their way all the way into the final four from the open qualifiers for the region. Both teams had met in the group stages and it was only IO who had managed to take a single game off Adroit then, but with the last slot in the Major on the line, the stakes were much higher now.
It took only two games of the best-of-three for the result to be decided as Adroit put yesterdays unfortunate events behind them and pummeled their way into ESL One LA. With that, they join Fnatic and Geek Fam in representing the Southeast Asian region at the third Major of the season and will be hoping to have a better performance than they did back at MDL Chengdu.
For IO, they join TNC Predator, BOOM Esports and Reality Rift in the StarLadder ImbaTV Season 3 Minor qualifiers, where they will fight from tomorrow for the single SEA slot at the Minor. Qualifiers for most regions end today, with China beginning its open qualifier run in just a few hours.
