After TNC Predator were unable to reach the ESL One Los Angeles Major through qualifiers, the Dota 2 Pro Circuit point leaders would need to play a tiebreaker in order to reach the Minor qualifiers directly.
Southeast Asia’s qualifiers for the third Major in the DPC reached the end of their group stage yesterday with Fnatic, IO Dota 2, Team Adroit and Geek Fam being the four teams which will fight for the three spots available at ESL One LA for the region. It was a tough lesson for the MDL Chengdu champions, TNC Predator, as they stumbled at every step – but thanks to the tiebreakers, they were able to secure themselves a chance to reach the StarLadder ImbaTV Season 3 Minor.
Going up against Reality Rift in one final best-of-one earlier today, TNC took an emphatic victory which pushed them directly into the Minor qualifiers where they currently join BOOM Esports and await their next two challengers. Group B would also see a tiebreaker, but this one was for fourth and fifth place, determining which of Cignal Ultra and Lowkey Esports would enter a playoff with RR for a Minor qualifier slot. Unfortunately, due to major ISP issues in the SEA region, Lowkey were unable to finish their game, in which they had a sizeable lead, thus giving Cignal the victory.
The ISP problems did not only effect Lowkey either as Adroit were hit with this issue too before their series against Fnatic. From what we have heard, the team were forced to forfeit game one against Fnatic but were able to make it into the lobby before forfeiting the entire series. That series, along with the RR versus Cignal series are currently underway before IO and Geek Fam begin their fight as we head towards the culmination of the SEA qualifiers for ESL One LA 2020.
