CIS regional qualifiers for The International 2019 are well underway. The first team to reach the grand finals has already been decided while another one waved goodbye to its TI dream.
Winstrike cruised through the upper bracket rounds. Lil and co took down Team Empire in the opening series of the day and are the ones responsible for stopping Vega’s total domination.
The Sharks reached the upper bracket finals after an insanely hard-fought series against Na’Vi. The first two games between the two of them went close to the 60-minute mark, game one victory going to Vega on the back of a mean Dark Willow played by Vitaliy “so bad” Oshmankevich, while game two went in Na’Vi’s way courtesy of a beast mode Vladislav “Crystallize” Krystanek who saved his team from losing it all. Game three, although it went on for about 30 minutes, it was an action-packed one, with a total of 64 kills split between the two teams. Vega had the full map control and pushed the black and yellow team to the lower bracket rounds where they are now set to meet again, this time around with survival on the line.
For Team Empire, the road to TI9 came to an end in the first round of the lower bracket where they got defeated 2-1 by Na’Vi despite their commendable efforts of taking their enemies by surprise with a Meepo draft.
July 10 is the final day in the CIS qualifiers for The International 2019. Three teams are left in the battle: Winstrike, waiting for their opponents in the grand finals, Na’Vi and Vega fighting in the lower bracket finals.
