Winter is coming. Alright, you know I had to do that. After much speculation that snow would be coming to Fortnite, the first tease of Season 7 seems to hint at a much colder drop zone. The images colors provide a blue and cold look and one can’t help but notice the ice-like base…oh, and the person skiing down the side of it (expect skis).

If that isn’t enough to convince you, you could just read the message with the photo. “A bitter ice spreads…3 days to Season 7.” Yep, bitter ice. Sounds cold to us.

With these details, we’re expecting a completely new look for the map with mountains being transformed to snow-covered peaks and bodies of water to be frozen over. This change will also allow for the addition of new items such as skis, snowboards, snowmobiles, and whatever else Epic may be able to cook up. These are all assumptions but with how Epic does things, I don’t think anyone would be surprised.

It is expected that this announcement or reveal will take place as part of “The Game Awards” show this Thursday thanks to a tweet from Geoff Keighley, the Producer and Creator of the awards show. He reveals that the Creative Director of Fortnite, Donald Mustard will be streaming live to make an announcement from the show.

Want to catch the action? Then watch the show starting at 9pm ET.
