Last night, the gaming community was puzzled at the news coming from the United States of America: President Donald Trump, following the discussions regarding the possible ban of TikTok, signed an executive order that would prevent US citizens and companies to do any transactions with some Chinese giants, and among them, Tencent.

This order will go in effect in 45 days, and all the gaming and esports community panicked when they thought about the consequences of this new law since it would affect the monthly subscription or the acquisition of any item in a large number of games.

Nevertheless, the White House cleared later that this executive order will only affect WeChat, and thus, none of the properties of Tencent in the video-games spectre would be affected by this rule.

That was confirmed by Sam Dean, a reporter from the journal “Los Angeles Times”, who claimed that the White House official sources cleared that video game companies owned by Tencent will not be affected.

This is great news. If this rule would have affected the video game companies, many games would have suffered a direct impact, games as famous as League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, Valorant, TFT, Fortnite, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Starcraft, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Path of Exile, Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, Gears of War, Rainbow Six Siege, Conan Exiles, Age of Conan and Arena of Valor.

Despite some updates could be announced in the future, the video game companies are safe by now.
