The ONE Esports Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Invitational has been postponed the organization has announced. The event was scheduled to take place from July 1st to 5th but the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic has seen government regulations and concerns of safety force changes.

In order to host a mass gathering event such as this, organizers are required to obtain permits from the local government and that is no longer possible in Jakarta.

“We will temporarily suspend permit and non-permit services, both manually and digitally, for events that can potentially gather large crowds,” Benni Agus Chandra, head of the agency in charge of handing out permits said in a post on the administration’s official website.

ONE Esports and Moonton, the creator and publisher of the game, have yet to reveal the new dates for the event.

The online country qualifiers will continue as expected, however, and the winners will still earn a spot at the ONE Esports Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Invitational when the time comes.

“ONE Esports is committed to delivering top-notch experiences for Dota 2 and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. These changes were tough to make, but they were necessary. We place great importance on the health and safety of our esports athletes, staff, and fans,” said Carlos Alimurung, CEO of ONE Esports in a post revealing the news on the ONE Esports website.
