A new esports company has made waves with a recent investor. a former NBA Most Valuable Player and 15 time all star Kevin Garnett has invested with Triumph Esports.
The newly formed company “includes Rivalcade, a competitive esports and experiential event company, and Triumph Gaming, a professional esports team and player development organization” the official press release reads.
“Our relationship with Triumph Esports is a natural fit as we look to showcase and elevate shared lifestyle experiences through competition, content, and live events,” Garnett said in the post. “Our vision is to create unique experiences that impact our fans across a variety of passion points.”
While not well known in the scene yet, Triumph currently fields a roster in Overwatch Contenders where they’ve made the playoffs which begin tonight alongside players in Apex Legends and Team Fight Tactics. Their Apex Legends roster will be traveling to Krakow, Poland to compete in the upcoming EA Pre-Season Invitational.

Garnett is one of many NBA players and current/former professional athletes to invest into esports. He joins the likes of Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal and Earvin “Magic” Johnson as esports investors from the league.
