T1 has made another leap in the VALORANT scene by signing four members to an academy team. The new academy division will be working to build up the younger and less experienced talent as the new game grows its scene.

The new division will see a mix of talent from other games come together. Both Noah “ULTRA” Giesbrecht and eeiu hail from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive where they reached the Mountain Dew League and ESEA Advanced respectively. Kurtis “Kurt” Gallo will be joining with a background in Apex Legends while Haydin “ZerG” Gordon comes from Overwatch.

While the fifth has yet to be confirmed, Nathan “retzi” Telen has been playing with the team team in the meantime. This lineup has already competed in several events, taking home 3rd-4th in the Nerd Street Games Open 12.

The current main lineup consists of several highly experienced players including Braxton “swag” Pierce, Keven “AZK” Lariviere, and Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham. They’re joined by two other players from the Counter-Strike world who had broken into the professional scene in the form of Austin “crashies” Roberts and Victory “food” Wong. The team is currently coached by CS 1.6 legend Danny “fRoD” Montaner.
